Financial Controller

This is an exciting new opportunity to appoint a Financial Controller. This is a key appointment for the business.

This is an opportunity for an experienced qualified accountant to lead a small account team and operate strategically alongside an ambitious entrepreneurial management in a rapidly growing business.

Specific Responsibilities:

• To identify and improve existing financial processes and controls within the company.

• The Financial Controller will provide financial leadership and advice to help define, drive, implement and deliver on strategic objectives, business plans and budgets.

• Quantify the likely financial impact of key strategic, tactical and commercial decisions, including investments in people, product development and stock.

• To identify and improve existing financial processes and controls within the company. Providing financial insight, quality analysis and commercial recommendations to support informed decision making.

• To produce management information and budgeting on a regular basis. Assist the Finance Director in providing board papers, business cases, supporting analysis for sign off by the Board on key decisions.

• To deliver tight cash controls and forecasting. Overseeing the provision of regular and timely financial information to the business to ensure appropriate accountability of budget holders and to drive the business forward.

Candidate experience

• The position requires an experienced ambitious Financial Controller who enjoys working as part of a friendly professional team.

• Experience of Project costing/accounting experience, as well as CVRs (Cost Value Reconciliations) will be important.
• Highly analytical, technically proficient, operationally and business savvy, a strategic and independent thinker, and a confident financial management leader.
• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified Accountant. Ideally, 5+ years post-qualification.
• Strong knowledge of Sage Line 50 is essential.
• Excel and forecasting experience are essential.
