Business Development Manager (Manufacturing)
Salary: Competitive Base Salary + Car Allowance + Bonus


Our Client

Our client is a boutique manufacturing and installation company based in Herefordshire. The company produces and installs bespoke mechanical linen handling systems to automate work processes in large commercial laundries across the UK and throughout Europe. The company has recently been acquired by a PE Group who are positioning the business for significant growth.

The Requirement

Due to planned growth, the business now requires a high calibre Business Development Manager to come in and work closely with the Managing Director and other members of the management team on sales and developing long term client relationships within the UK and European laundry marketplace.

The business is looking for the right commercially minded individual, with relevant experience who would thrive in the opportunity to help steer the business to its full potential in a supported environment.

Core Responsibilities

This hands-on role will entail a significant proportion of the Business Development Manager’s time being spent on:

  • Selling and promoting the company’s range of services and products
  • Establishing, developing and maintaining positive business and customer relationships
  • Dealing professionally with customer problems and complaints to maximize satisfaction
  • Achieving agreed upon sales targets and outcomes within schedule
  • Supplying management with reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services
  • Keeping abreast of best practices and market trends

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience in successfully developing sales and successful client relationships within the laundry industry would be ideal
  • General business development and negotiation experience within automated manufacturing companies that have grown
  • Highly motivated and target driven with a proven track record
  • Prioritising, time management and organisational skills
  • Relationship management skills and openness to feedback
  • Hands on with a high degree of business acumen
  • Logical problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated and target driven
  • Able to use intuition and take full responsibility for decision making
  • Able to build rapport with clients and manage/grow key accounts Microsoft Office proficient
